The Risorgimento in Piacenza...an air of Spring and Freedom
The initiative takes place over two days, April 25th and May 1st , and begins on both occasions with a visit to the Museum of the Risorgimento in Piacenza , followed by a walk through the city's main sites linked to the events of the Risorgimento, which earned Piacenza the title of " Italy's First-born City ." The initiative will offer participants the opportunity to delve deeper into local history through a tour that combines a museum visit with an exploration of the historic center, visiting sites symbolic of Piacenza's contribution to the process of national unification.
The tour will lead participants through historical documents, testimonies, and significant locations, retracing the key stages of the Risorgimento and the city's decisive role in 1848, rediscovering the values of participation, civic engagement, citizenship, constitutionalism, and freedom that are more relevant today than ever.
