Easter at the Farnese: From April 3rd to 6th, three days of events at the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese
Friday, April 3rd: Easter at the Museum! Rites and symbols of rebirth from the Greco-Roman to the Christian world.
From 4pm to 6pm
Easter is the most important holiday in the Christian calendar, celebrating the Resurrection and promising redemption for all believers. This tradition overlaps with the pagan holidays that once marked the end of winter and the beginning of spring, which themselves fell at the same time of year. Easter, therefore, carries a broader meaning linked to the regeneration of nature and, with it, the idea of a new beginning for all living beings, who are granted a new beginning.
We'll hunt for symbols linked to Christian Easter and ancient beliefs about the cyclical regeneration of nature, wandering through the halls of Palazzo Farnese, between the Pinacoteca and the Roman section of the Civic Museums. Then we'll head to the classrooms for a creative workshop: it will be "regenerating" to give new shape and meaning to things!
Entrance ticket price: €2

Sunday, April 5: Peace on Earth
Easter is the holiday when the rebirth of nature invites us to believe in life's ability to renew itself and triumph over destruction. The Palazzo Farnese collections offer a unique perspective on the presence in art of symbols linked to renewal and rebirth as a message of reconciliation, hope, and peace. A different way to celebrate the holidays thanks to art and its universal language, which conveys a message of liberation from fear, conflict, and strife.
