Farnese Summer Camp is coming soon, a summer camp for children aged 6 to 12 that combines learning, play, and discovery of the city's cultural heritage.
The project was created to offer families a quality educational service during the summer, while also promoting awareness of the museum collections through engaging and interdisciplinary experiences. It offers a unique opportunity to experience the museum as a place of growth, socialization, and fun. The summer camp will take place within the Museums of Palazzo Farnese from June 8th to June 26th and from August 31st to September 11th , for a total of five weeks.
Each week will be organized as a journey through the palace's various museum sections. Each day will be dedicated to specific themes: from archaeology to the Carriage Museum, from the civic section to the Art Gallery, and finally to the Museum of the Risorgimento, which will offer inspiration for activities of re-elaboration and final synthesis. Educational activities will include manual and creative workshops, theatrical and expressive activities, educational games, musical experiences, and moments dedicated to well-being and movement , such as yoga for children. There will also be activities in English , scheduled on a rotating basis throughout the week, and field trips to deepen understanding of the local cultural context.
Activities will take place in equipped classrooms and protected outdoor green areas, with groups of 10 to 15 participants. The educational approach will be laboratory-based, experiential, and inclusive, enhancing each child's active participation, cooperation, and creativity.
